Guitar Club and Workshop 🎸

Do you play guitar? Did you once play guitar and it is still lying around somewhere or in a wardrobe?

Do you like listening to or playing along with the music of:-
Lonnie Donegan, Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers, Eagles, Dire Straits, Bob Dylan, Beatles, Johnny Cash, Tom Paxton, Don McLean, Simon & Garfunkel, Beach Boys, Judy Collins, Kenny Rogers etc.?

Do you like listening to or playing along to Folk Music, Country Music, Blues or memorable 'pop' music or hits?

If you answer YES to any of these questions this u3a 'Guitar Group' could be what's needed to start playing and learning more often amongst like-minded people. (If not already a U3A member you will need to join.)

The main objective of the group will be to help each other learn various techniques and styles, learn some new songs and hopefully pick up some wider musical knowledge on the way.

Our 'Song Book' is approaching 250 and we usually cover 25+ at each session.

Meetings are scheduled for alternate Thursdays at Stainbeck Community Hall (2.00 to 4.30pm).

Please note: this group is not for absolute beginners, but as long as you have an instrument and have been making some efforts to get to grip with the chords of your favourite songs, you should be OK.
