Walking: 7Up 🧭

Welcome to the 7 Up walking group which, as the name implies, provides walks of any distance over 7 miles. The walks will be on the 4th Wednesday of every month and details of these walks will be posted on the programme below, along with the contact number of the walk leader.

All walks will be circular unless otherwise stated. Walkers should wear footwear and clothing suitable to the terrain and weather conditions. Food and drink and a sit mat are also advisable.

Walkers are reminded that they attend walks in this programme at their own risk, and that they are responsible for their own safety.

From Fulwith Mill Lane, Harrogate to Ripley Village (Return by Bus)

Linear - 7.5 Miles

Meet at 10.30am for the start at Fulwith Mill Lane on Harrogate Road. Park on Stone Rings Road or get the 36 Bus. The walk will start from the bus stop. The walk goes through leafy south Harrogate suburbs into the city centre and past the bus station to the Nidderdale Greenway, a surfaced footpath/cycleway which takes us to Ripley Village and castle, where refreshments are available. The walk is mainly on firm flat surfaces. The return to the start of the walk at Fulwith Mill Lane will be by 36 Bus (bring Bus Passes!) Please bring a packed lunch and a sit mat.

Christine’s Covid Walk (Part 2) - Harrogate

Circular - 7 miles

Meet at 10.30am by the first bus stop after the Prince of Wales Roundabout (opposite Weeton’s Food Shop). This is the second roundabout as you enter Harrogate and shows on the bus overhead if you are coming by bus. There is The Stray on 3 sides and the Prince of Wales Mansions (huge Victorian pile) in the 4th corner. There is parking behind Trinity Church. There are lots of roads for free parking. It’s pavement walking, no stiles, no mud and no kissing gates. We will eventually walk through Valley Gardens and back to the bus stop. The walk takes in all of The Stray.
