Walking: 7Up 🧭

Welcome to the 7 Up Walking Group which, as the name implies, provides walks of any distance over 7 miles.

The walks will be on the 4th Wednesday of every month and details of these walks will be posted on the programme here, along with the contact number of the walk leader.

All walks will be circular unless otherwise stated. Walkers should wear footwear and clothing suitable to the terrain and weather conditions. Food and drink and a sit mat are also advisable.

Walkers are reminded that they attend walks in this programme at their own risk, and that they are responsible for their own safety.

If you would like to lead a walk during the next year, or for any other information, please get in touch.

23 April

8.75 Mile Circular Keyhole Walk – Addingham – Bolton Abbey

Category – Moderate

This scenic walk starts at Addingham Suspension Bridge, LS29 0RB. We then follow the Dales Way, much of which runs alongside the River Wharf past the Bolton Bridge and on to the Wooden Bridge, where we will pause for lunch. There is a café there and toilets. We will then walk down the other side of the River via the Cavendish Memorial until we again rejoin the Dales Way and follow this back to the Addingham Suspension Bridge. It looks very different in this direction.

Much of the walk is on footpaths, a couple of small stretches on roadside and most is flat – there are a few undulations, steps and styles. As usual, please dress according to the weather of the day and bring refreshments and a sit mat.

Please meet at the suspension bridge, where there is plenty of parking along Bark Lane, in time for a 10.30am start, or, if you wish to car share, please meet at MASSC at 9.40am. It would be helpful if you would let the walk leader know if you are going to MASSC for car sharing.
